Nigel has today praised the important work carried out at the Longridge Community Gym, which has just celebrated its 2nd anniversary. The site provides a wide range of services for the local community, particularly serving those who are either over 50, suffer from a serious medical condition or are disabled, and helping to make lasting changes to the health and wellbeing of those clients. The two committed members of staff provide specialist care for the various target groups and have served 1,400 members over the community with a combined 31,000 visits since the gym’s inception.
Speaking from Longridge after a visit to the facility this afternoon Mr Evans said, ‘I was delighted to visit the Longridge Community Gym today and see for myself the important work carried out here, making sure that everyone can have access not only to fitness equipment but also to the combined 40 years of fitness and sport experience on offer from the staff. I look forward to visiting this facility again and working in close partnership with the staff to ensure that their good work can continue and hopefully expand their operation. Angel, Darren, Eileen, Sylvia and the rest of the team are a credit to the community and I hope that they will be celebrating many more anniversaries of the Longridge Community Gym in the years to come.’
