I firmly believe in low taxes. They incentivise businesses and allow individuals to keep more of their own money and spend it as they choose rather than it be spent as the state sees fit.
This Government has raised the Personal Allowance to £10,000, giving a tax cut to 27 million working people and saving the average taxpayer £705 a year. The next Conservative Government will do even more, by raising the Personal Allowance to £12,500 and raising the 40p tax threshold to £50,000.
Furthermore, fuel duty has been frozen and is now 17p per litre lower than it would have been without this Government’s action, saving the average family £9 per tank. This fuel duty freeze is of particular significance to rural areas such as the Ribble Valley.
