Nigel Evans yesterday met with with Paralympians Hannah Cockroft and Sam Ruddock in support of Scope’s “Britain Cares” campaign. The campaign is calling on the government to ensure that that over 100,000 disabled people do not lose out on vital social care support which enables them to live independent, full lives as the Care Bill is due to enter the Commons in the autumn.
Speaking from Westminster, Mr Evans said:
“I support Scope’s “Britain Cares” campaign because it is absolutely right that disabled people have access to the care and support that they need. That access is key because it allows and enables many disabled people to live independent lives.
“I will be looking carefully at the Care Bill when it comes before Parliament.”
