Nigel has today registered his objections to proposals to build a 26 acre solar farm at Little Snodworth Farm, Langho.
The proposed solar farm would be divided across three areas and would cover the area of 15 Premier League football pitches.
Speaking this afternoon Mr Evans said,
“This application is totally inappropriate for the area and would take away a huge area of greenbelt land in the Ribble Valley.
This application has come hot on the heels of similar plans for a solar farm in Gisburn, and there is no local support whatsoever for either scheme.
I will be registering my official objection to the plans with Ribble Valley Borough Council and call directly on members of the Planning Committee to vote against the application.
I would also encourage other members of the local community to do the same and demonstrate the level of concern that this application generates.
These sorts of solar farms only benefit the landowner and not the wider community. Not only this but they are an enormous eyesore and can be seen for miles around.”
