Ribble Valley MP Nigel Evans has today attend an event at the House of Commons hosted by Care After Combat, a charity set up by comedian Jim Davidson OBE to provide professional assistance for the well-being of veterans and their families. The event also marked the official appointment of opera singer Katherine Jenkins as a trustee of the charity.
Speaking from Westminster Mr Evans said;
“Care After Combat give vital assistance and support to veterans, helping them make the transition away from the military to civilian life. Its work is paramount in helping to maintain support to veterans and those left feeling vulnerable or challenged by leaving the military.
All of our veterans should know how highly we value their contribution to British life. They put their lives on the line for this country, and it is only right that they receive support after their military careers have finished.
Our troops have fought a succession of battles over the past 50 years. Some veterans are still fighting those battles. The work of this charity helps them to continue with their lives.
I would also pay tribute to Jim Davidson OBE who has been one of the most tireless campaigners for public support of the military and whose work through Care After Combat is invaluable.”
